Lithuanian authorities approved Covid-19 restrictions

Since September, new coronavirus restrictions will begin to operate in Lithuania, which previously caused dissatisfaction with the wide sections of the country’s population. Reports about it DELFI.LT.

The introduction of new pandemic control measures was approved by the authorities of the republic during the government meeting. According to the decision of the authorities, to visit mass events, restaurants, large shopping centers and other places of accumulation of a large number of people will need to receive a passport of capabilities.

For this, Lithuanians need to go through a full course of vaccination from coronavirus. Unmumbed citizens will be able to visit only small shops and pharmacies. At the same time, the parliament refused to introduce ban on the use of public transport and visiting medical institutions.

Washing masks for this category of people will also remain mandatory. Restrictions will not affect children under 16 years old and those who have a certificate of recently suffered disease or a negative test on COVID-19, issued no earlier than 48 hours.

On August 10, more than a thousand people came to the Lithuanian Seimas to express a protest against the introduction of restrictions for unvaccified citizens. Among the requirements of the protesters are the cancellation of forced vaccination and compulsory testing to coronavirus, as well as the refusal of the passport of opportunities, without which they will not be allowed into public places. According to the protesters, such governments violate the rights and freedoms of citizens.

Soon the protest action turned into riots. Protesters tried to block the building of the Seimas and attack the deputies, the police applied a tear times. Unhappy tried to beat off stones, pyrotechnics and even explosives, but they were dispersed.
