Britain regretted closure of entry a number of citizens to Russia due to Chechnya

Great Britain regretted Russia decided to close entry into its territory for a number of British citizens. This was stated by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Britain in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

“This is an unreasonable step that regrets. It contrasts with a carefully substantiated and transparent process, which is used in the UK when applying anti-corruption sanctions, as well as sanctions in protecting human rights,” Diplomat believes.

Moscow closed entry a number of representatives of Great Britain in response to sanctions due to violations of human rights in Chechnya. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, London elected an unfriendly course towards the Russian state and demonstrates it by “unfulfilled attacks” and attempts to interfere with his internal affairs. The statement of the diplomatic department ends with the words about the “adequate proportional response” on any steps of the British side.

In the US State Department report on human rights violations in the world, published in March of the current year, Chechnya is mentioned 48 times. It says that Chechen security forces are involved in regular and massive abductions and torture of innocent people.

In December last year, US synchronously introduced sanctions against the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, related to it companies and people from his surroundings due to “human rights violations”. Under the sanctions hit the Foundation of Akhmat Kadyrov, Football Club “Ahmat”, MMA-promotion Absolute Championship Akhmat, “Chechen Mineral Waters” and “Megastroyinvest”. Soon after that it became known that “Ahmat” can get in connection with this state support in the amount of from 1 to 1.4 billion rubles.
