Court in Delhi sentenced the elderly local priest named Wishwa Bandhu (Vishwa Bandhu) to life imprisonment for the fact that he attacked two girls 7 and 9 years old and raped them right in the temple, writes The Times of India.
It is noted that a 76-year-old man did not express repentance at either one of the stages of the proceedings. In addition to life imprisonment, he was sentenced a fine of 50 thousand rupees for rape and 10 thousand rupees for intimidation of the victims. He will also pay each girl compensation in the amount of 750 thousand rupees. At the current Rupee rate costs 99 kopecks.
The judge especially emphasized that the crime occurred in the place where children should feel at maximum security, and the priest’s re-education is impossible.
Earlier this week in Delhi passed mass protests due to rape and killing another nine-year-old girl, which also took part Hindu priest. At the same time, four rapists first tried to pay off his mother’s mother, and then burned the girl’s body.
