Zakharov accused Britain in dual standards against Russia

The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharov in his Telegram-Channel accused the UK in double standards against Russia due to the OSCE refusal to attend the elections to the State Duma.

It brought an example of the UNITED PREDMA Statement in the OSCE Nemila Bush, in which he stressed that the restriction in the number of observers from the Bureau of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) will prevent a reliable assessment in conducting a vote and undermine the observation efficiency.

Zakharova wondered where Neil Bush and the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Forin-Office), when the ODIHR team was formed to the US elections in 2020. She reminded that 30 observers arrived all, which, besides, were not allowed in some states.

“How will Neil Bush calls his behavior: double standards or loyalness?” – summarized the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On August 3, the OSCE declared the refusal to send their delegation due to the requirements of Russia to limit its composition due to the epidemiological situation in the country.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called the consequences to which the OSCE will be subject to refusing to observe the elections to the State Duma. Department of Information and Printing Department Vomblesva Alexander Tsikante stressed that this step is neglecting Russia’s efforts to counter the spread of coronavirus, and added that the Kremlin’s decision did not discriminate with ODIHR, since the delegates allocated the largest quota.
