Washington has expanded the Afghan refugee reception program. Now the right to receive asylum can take advantage of not only the faces who have long cooperated directly with American military. The current and former employees of news and non-profit organizations founded by the United States or funding receiving them may also claim protection.
Category “Priority 2” extends on the next relatives of such employees. They can also be at risk due to ties with Washington, but can not get a special immigration visa, because they did not work directly to the US government. Approximately 20 thousand Afghans showed interest in the program.
Earlier, the US Congress adopted a law on the emergency, according to which the number of visas for the allies who worked with the American army in Afghanistan will be increased. As Congressmen declare, the bill will simplify some requirements for obtaining a visa.
