Money from reserve fund was allocated to raising salaries of astronauts

The Russian government allocated more than 127 million rubles to raise the salaries of astronauts. This is reported on the Cabinet website.

“127.4 million rubles will be sent to financial support for the increase in salary of astronauts,” the report says. It is noted that the order has signed the prime minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Money will be allocated from the Reserve Fund, the recipient will be the center for the training of astronauts named after Yuri Gagarin – an institution that pays salaries by Russian astronauts.

In April, the Government approved a resolution to increase the salaries of astronauts on behalf of President Vladimir Putin. The salary of candidates for astronauts grew from 60.9 thousand to 129.5 thousand rubles, and at the cosmonauts themselves – from 63.8 thousand to 135.8 thousand rubles.

Official salary is one of the components of salaries of astronauts. In addition to this component, it includes compensation and stimulating payments. At the same time, the salaries of Russian astronauts still almost twice lower than their colleagues from the US and Europe.
