According to researchers, cases of infection with Indian strain grew exponentially since the beginning of May. At the same time, only for the last week more than five thousand sicks were recorded. “Unprocessed data indicate a disappointing situation,” the article says.

The fact that the Indian strain COVID-19 began to spread rapidly in the UK, it became known earlier. According to the head of the British Ministry of Health of Matt Hancok, the proportion of a new variety of coronavirus reached 91 percent among the fallen.

A variety of so-called Indian strain B.1.617 was recorded at least in 53 countries. It is believed that the “delta version” is 40-60 percent of a contagious classic coronavirus.
