Merkel and Macron will think together about Russia

Germany and France leaders will think together on the future course in relations with Russia. This was announced by the German chancellor of Angela Merkel before meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, her words reported TASS.

Macron, in turn, declared the need to work out the general rules in cooperation with Moscow at the nearest Summit of the European Union.

According to The Local, June 18, Macron and Merkel will hold a working meeting in Berlin. During the negotiations, policies will discuss coordination between France and Germany, as well as the general directions of European politics.

On June 15, the head of the international diplomacy of the EU Jozep Borrel determined three actions for Europe relations with Russia: repel, restrain and interact. The diplomat mentioned that the approach proposed by them repeats the concept of NATO, which is practiced since 2014 and is aimed at simultaneous interaction and deterrence.

In addition, the EU and the United States at the end of the summit on June 15 decided to create a high-level dialogue regarding the Russian side policies to “answer its negative behavior and harmful acts.”
