Small Rocket Ship of the project 1240 “Hurricane”, received underwater wings, had an unusual design and was distinguished by powerful weapons, writes The Drive.
“Today, there are only historical photos of Soviet times, which give an idea of which it was a 400-ton rocket monster, disking the waves of the Black Sea,” the publication says.
The American publication reminds that this ship because of its high costs and maintenance difficulties was built in the USSR in a single instance.
The Drive writes that the speed of “hurricane”, which had a length of more than 48 meters exceeded 60 knots. The publication notes that this ship has distinguished the presence of underwater wings made from titanium alloy. The main energy installation included a pair of gas turbine engines with a capacity of 18 thousand horsepower. “Hurricane”, in particular, was armed with anti-worker missiles of P-120 “Malachite”, anti-aircraft missiles “OSA-M” and a 30-millimeter six-power gun AK-630M.
In June, Sevmash showed from the inside the nuclear submarine K-561 “Kazan” of the project 885m “Clene-M”, which the Naval Fleet of Russia received in May.
