US began to install anti-missile defense systems (pro) Aegis Ashore based on Poland. This is reported by Interfax with reference to the US military.
We are talking about the base in the north of Poland, in the village of Redzikovo. In March, there was already completed there and tested the work of the Radar SPY-1D (V) and fire control systems (FCS). At the same time, the construction of the base has not yet been completed: it is wanted to finish by 2022, the project is ready for about 95 percent.
It is noted that the American base about in Poland is needed to detect, track and intercept ballistic missiles. In Washington, it is believed that with the help of systems it will be possible to ensure the safety of Western Europe. At the same time, Moscow has repeatedly expressed concerns about the installation of American weapons at their borders.
Interfax reminds that the base of the terrestrial basing about Aegis is already valid in Romania. In addition, American destroyers are posted in Spain on an ongoing basis.
