Seven European countries agreed to block Belarusian aircraft

Seven European countries, including Serbia, joined the declaration of the Council of the European Union, prescribing blocking the sky for Belarusian aircraft. This is stated in publications on the website of the association.

It is reported that together with Serbia to the agreement, other candidates for joining the block were joined in: Northern Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania. In addition, Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland are also supported, which are included in the European Economic Zone. All countries stated that their national policy will be held in accordance with the ban.

June 3 began it to be known that the EU preparations of sanctions against Belarus and some progress were already achieved. In particular, the European authorities introduced the official ban for Belarusian airlines for flights over the territory of the European bloc or landing at the airports of its countries. The EU also plan to introduce restrictions for large companies in the country, freeze assets and prohibit trips to the territory of the association countries to some individuals and legal entities.

The aggravation of relations between Western countries and Belarus occurred after May 23, the airline Ryanair airlines, following the route Athens – Vilnius, made an emergency landing in Minsk. It happened after reports of mining received from Minsk airport. To accompany the aircraft, the Fighter MiG-29 of the Air Force of Belarus was raised. Immediately after landing, Belarusian security forces detained on board the former Glavreda Opposition Telegram channel NEXTA Roman Protasevich. In the European Union and the United States found it an act of state terrorism.
