Ambassador estimated threat to Russia from actions of Taliban in Afghanistan

The actions of the Radical Movement “Taliban” (the terrorist organization prohibited in Russia) in Afghanistan do not pose a direct threat to Russia, said Russian ambassador to Kabul Dmitry Zhirnov on the air TV channel “Russia 24”. His words leads TASS.

The diplomat stressed that the situation in the Afghan capital is still restless, in the city there is an increased terrorist danger. At the same time, fat added that “some qualitative changes to the worst” is not observed, and the Taliban has enough sufficient forces to capture Kabul and major cities of the republic.

The ambassador also noted that representatives of Russia, the USA, China and Pakistan work on the settlement of the situation in Afghanistan. “We conduct a line to ensure that the conflicting parties start real-targeted negotiations, which would lead to the termination of the Civil War,” the Agency leads his words.

Previously, the Special Representative of the President of Russia in the Middle East Republic of Zamir Kabulov called the main goals and threats in Afghanistan. According to him, our country is interested in making Afghanistan to be a source of international terrorism. Among the threats to national interests, he also called drug perspectivity.
