MTS Company on the number of subscribers of home Internet among the top 4 Internet providers in Russia in the first quarter of 2021 was published on the second after Rostelecom, bypassing “Er-Telecom”. In fourth place turned out to be “VimpelCom”. This follows from the study of the Agency “TMT Consulting”.
In this case, the leadership positions in terms of the subscriber base increase in the 1st quarter of 2021 took MTS, the number of its users increased by 1.2 percent to 3.885 million subscribers compared to the previous quarter. Thus, the operator came to second place after Rostelecom, according to the number of serviced subscribers of a fixed broadband in Russia, the agency reports.
The largest Internet provider “Rostelecom” subscriber base has stagnated during the first quarter, reaching 12.367 million, the number of subscribers decreased by 0.3 percent to 3.867 million from the ER Telecom operator. The number of VimpelCom subscribers increased by 0.5 percent to 2.855 million.
TMT Consulting agency notes that against the backdrop of the saturation of the Russian market of fixed ADD, the rate of growth of the subscriber base in the first quarter of 2021 slowed down. The number of fixed Internet subscribers among individuals in the country increased by 0.3 percent compared with the 4th quarter of 2020 and amounted to 34.7 million, the penetration exceeded 61 percent. In the Moscow market, the penetration reached 90 percent, the number of subscribers approached 4.4 million.
