In India, they recorded first death from strain “Delta Plus”

The first death after infection with the new mutation of COVID-19 strain “Delta Plus” was recorded in the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

a woman was dead, her age was not reported. Her husband also previously found Coronavirus, but later he received two doses of vaccine.

As reported by the Minister of the state of Vishwas Sarang, there are currently five people infected with a new strain. The deceased woman was the only one who was not vaccinated. The rest of four, according to the minister, “got a vaccine and are now healthy.”

“The patient who has not passed the vaccination, died from the virus. That is why we urge everyone to go through vaccination,” Sarang said.

Previously, the director of the All-Indian Institute of Medical Sciences Randip Gulery warned that the newest strain of Coronavirus “Delta Plus” (B.1.617.2.1) is characterized by lightning contractions. According to the specialist, it is possible to infect this variant of the virus, even just passing by an infected person without a mask. In addition, the concerns of the physicians and the authorities are caused by the fact that Delta-Plus is resistant to monoclonal antibodies and has the ability to “bypass” immunity.

The new subspecies, according to epidemiologists, is distinguished by the presence of a K417N mutation in a spike protein. It is able to reduce the activity of antibodies of persecuted and vaccinated people.
