Collectors actively took up debts of young Russians

Banks and microfinance organizations (MFIs) This year has become more actively selling collectors problem debts of young Russians – borrowers up to 25 years. It is reported by RBC.

In the first quarter, the share of such non-payers in the total number of cases was 20 percent (an increase of 9.7 percent). The collectors took more actively to work even with the most young recipients of loans at the age of 18-20 years. The share of young borrowers increases from 2020.

In July-August last year, Russians have become the most significant group of loans recipients. For example, in the last month of summer, they accounted for 31.4 percent of issuance. “We understand that every year the number of working young people is growing, but statistically the level of potential overdue debt in this cohort of citizens is higher than others,” said Olesya Kiseleva’s managing director.

In January-March, banks transferred 145 billion rubles for three years to collectors for three years, which exceeded last year’s indicator by 13 percent. Overdue debt increased by almost a quarter to a pandemic.

Last year, financial organizations gave off debt collectors by 582 billion rubles. This is a record volume for seven years.
