The Russian Fighter-Interceptor MiG-31BM received a small range of the R-74M class “air-air”, report “Izvestia”, referring to sources in the Ministry of Defense.
The newspaper recalls that this short air combat weapon, known under the export name of the RVV-MD, is intended to destroy the maneuverable aircraft, drones and winged missiles. Recently, the P-74M was applied during the naval aviation exercises on a camcatch.
The publication notes that R-74M, the range of which is 0.3 – 40 kilometers, also receive, in particular, Su-30cm fighters and Su-57.
In March “Izvestia”, referring to the sources in the Ministry of Defense, reported that MiG-31 would be intercepting ballistic missiles.
In January, the newspaper, with reference to sources in the military department, reported that fighters-interceptors will protect Seedworthy.
