Lisbon handed over Moscow data organizers in support of Navalny

The Municipality of Lisbon passed the Russian Embassy in Portugal Personal data of the organizers of the action in support of the FBK founder (recognized as an extremist organization and included the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the register of organizations that perform the functions of a foreign agent) Alexei Navalny. This was reported by the Portuguese newspaper Expresso.

As it became known, the organizers of the action were three people with dual citizenship – Russian and Portuguese. They asked Lisbon City Council to allow them to hold a rally, and during this transferred their personal data, including addresses and phone numbers, RBC reports with reference to the Spanish newspaper Publico.

However, the mayor’s office transferred information not only to the local police, but also to the Russian embassy, ​​as well as the Russian Foreign Ministry. Later, the city council of Lisbon recognized the fact of data transfer. They stated that they followed the standard procedure, but in this case they recognized their actions erroneous. Mayor Lisbon Fernando Medina brought public apology to the organizers.

Head of FBK Alexey Navalny is currently located in a correctional colony number 2 (IR-2) in Pokrov, where he is serving a punishment in the case of “Yves Rocher”. January 17, the blogger was arrested at Sheremetyevo airport on returning from Germany. On February 2, the Simonovsky Court of Moscow overturned a violation of the condition of observance of the probationary period. He was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison. In the colony, he, according to the decision of the Moscow City Court of February 20, will stay 2.5 years.
