The Deputy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov assessed the possibility of returning Moscow to the Open Sky Treaty (Don). His words report RIA Novosti.
Diplomat noted that the head of the participation of the Russian side in Don is completely closed. He stressed that Moscow advocated the preservation of a missile agreement from the date of the US announcement of the exit of it. According to him, Washington’s decision undermined the scope of Eurobasmacy.
Ryabkov concluded that the American authorities in their decision on the exit from the Don “neglected common sense and simply logic of the moment.” “They saw in our position what was not in it and could not be, they began to argue that we allegedly try to split into the western community,” he told. Deputy head of the Foreign Ministry added that unreasonable accusations against Russia – the “annoying mantra”, which the United States is used for the absence of other arguments.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on the exit of the country from the Agreement on the Open Sky earlier on June 7. The law was the answer to the US outlet from Don in November 2020.
