EU accused Russia in unleashing of “chain of conflicts” at its borders

The European Union accuses Russia in the unleashing of the “chain of conflicts” both in the immediate vicinity of its borders, and far beyond their limits. This was stated by the head of the European Council Charles Michel during a performance in the European Parliament, the broadcast of which was carried out in its twitter .

Michel stressed that the EU often reacted into some steps of Moscow, rather than making proactive actions. In this regard, the head of the European Council called on the association countries to decide what they want from Russia, and in accordance with this, to determine the strategic goals on relationships with Moscow.

So, the basis of such a strategy, Michel proposed to lay five principles. Among them are the implementation of Minsk agreements, strengthening the EU relations with their eastern partners, strengthening the sustainability of the European Union, selective cooperation with Russia on issues of interest to the EU, as well as the implementation of interpersonal contacts and support for civil society in Russia.

Earlier, the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Alekland, said that Russia and the European Union relationship reached the zero point. According to the diplomat, the current situation is contrary to the deep interests of the Europeans themselves.
