Belarus announced plans to integrate with Russia without loss of sovereignty

Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Publichenko said that the republic almost completed the stage of coordination of integration programs with Russia and stressed that their implementation would not lead to the loss of the country’s sovereignty. This is reported by the publication “Sat. Belarus Today.”

According to him, the final approval of plans for the deepening of economic relationships between countries is planned to be completed by the end of summer. The result of their implementation should be the creation of a single economic space.

“We are building a new relationship model, (…) To create not just equal conditions, and new models of economies that should develop synchronously,” explained Golzchenko.

Earlier, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that he did not discuss the question of refusing to the country’s sovereignty and is not going to “take” him in anyone at negotiations with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. “We didn’t talk about it at all. We solved specific questions that would help bring us closer to the Russian Federation,” the head of state explained.
