In the Roskosmos Roskosmospical Rospace Center), comprehensive tests of the separation and separation of the component parts of the assembly and protective block (SBS) of the Scientific Energy Module (NAM) were held.
Tests took place in three stages for which three experimental settings were made in the RCC “Progress”. In October 2020, the testing of the transition compartment separation from the support compartment was successfully completed. In February 2021, experimental testing of the means of separating the reference compartment from NAM was completed. The third, the final stage took place in May – the means of separation of the head fairing were tested.
The testing of the branch was carried out in such a manner, in which separation process will occur in real conditions of operation. They demonstrated and confirmed the reliable operation of the separation systems and the unstressed separation of the transition compartment, the reference compartment and the head fairing. In addition, the performance of the prototypes of the separation of TWB compartments of NAM and the compliance of the data obtained by the requirements of technical tasks were confirmed.
