US Energy Minister doubted ecology of Russian gas

US Energy Minister Jennifer Granholm doubted the ecology of Russian gas. She stated that the natural gas received in Russia is supposedly “the most dirty” in the world. Her words on the hearings in the Committee of the Chamber of Representatives of the US Congress on Science, Space and Technology leads to TASS.

So Granholm commented on the construction of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline, emphasizing that the United States opposes him.

“and I will say on behalf of the Ministry of Energy, which is one of the reasons – in addition to geopolitical issues related to Russia, is one of the reasons why I consider this pipeline is very dangerous, is that it is transported by the dirtiest form. Natural gas on earth, “said Granholm.

Earlier in May, Minister of Energy of Russia Nikolai Shulginov eliminated the possibility of competition between the Russian pipeline and liquefied natural gas (LNG) for deliveries to Europe. According to him, the Russian LNG could buy, for example, Spain. The head of the department indicated that a competitor for Russian pipeline gas is LNG from Qatar and the United States, but the stability of supplying gas pipelines looks an advantage.

May 1, the price of gas in Europe has grown records from mid-January. A thousand cubic meters traded at 286 dollars. The reason for this dynamics was the reduction of LNG supplies.
