Amendments to the law on advertising wanted to remove part of commercial ads from residential buildings and some other private and public spaces. The document adopted by the State Duma in the first reading and is posted in the system of providing legislative activities (CRED).
Amendments provide a new procedure for obtaining permits to install advertising structures. There is also a risk of termination of existing contracts if they do not meet the new rules.
So, advertisers and outdoor advertising operators will have to receive permission from the property owner and conclude a corresponding contract with it. As a reason for the introduction of such rules, the authors indicated the desire to protect apartment owners in apartment buildings from installing advertising on them without their knowledge.
In addition to apartment buildings, the amendments affect private areas and can lead to cancellation of a contract for RZD advertising, “Vedomosti” write. In the current contract, specific installation sites are not prescribed – it is a framework.
