In the area of falling on the territory of the Alandan region of the Republic of Sakha, Yakutia the search group of the center of exploitation of land space infrastructure (Roscosmos State Corporation) together with the rescue service of the Republic of Sakha discovered another two fragments of the head fairing of the Soyuz 2 launch vehicle running in the ONEWEB launcher on March 25, 2021.
In search work, complexes of unmanned aerial vehicles are used. The head fairing of the “Union 2” rocket, painted in white, managed to find after the snow cover in the fall area.
At the moment, search engines continue. Salvation service prepared a helicopter platform for the evacuation of the first fragment. Fragments of the head fairing after exportation from the fall area are stored in the container delivered from the cosmodrome. All work in the fall areas are held with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Ecology of Yakutia and the Administration of the Alandan region.
