Incident investigators with Ever Given container carrier, blocked the movement in the Suez Channel for six days, proved the guilt of the Captain of the vessel. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the chapter of the administration of the Usama Rabia channel.
“Investigation of the incident with Ever Given confirmed that an error was made when the vehicle is focused. Complete responsibility for it lies on the Captain of the vessel, and not on the channel pilots, since their opinion is optional and only advisory,” he noted.
In addition to the found perpetrator of the blocking, Rabia spoke about the violations of the Ever Given owner. She refused to provide data on the cost of cargo on board, which was required for the court, and did not adopt the administration of the channel about flammable goods.
on approximate estimates, the total cost of the vessel and cargo is two billion dollars. Rabia reported that the amount of compensation calculated on the basis of the cost of goods is 550 million dollars. At the same time, initially, the owners of the vessel were planned to demand $ 916 million.
Suez Canal was blocked on March 23. Experts did not exclude that Ever Given will leave for the liberation of Ever Given, but remove the ship from the Mel and towed to a large bitter lake found on March 29. April 2, the investigation of the causes of the incident was launched.
