American entrepreneur and founder of Tesla Ilon Mask wanted to build a plant for the production of electric vehicles in Russia. He stated this on the Russian educational marathon “New Knowledge”. His words brings “Interfax”.
“I think we are close to the presence in Russia. Speaking more widely, also in Kazakhstan, in neighboring regions,” said Mask, answering questions from participants in video connection.
Mask mentioned that Tesla production facilities are located, in particular, in the United States and China, but the company considers expansion of geography. “We want to have plants in other parts of the world. Potentially we consider Russia,” added entrepreneur.
Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Earlier called Mask to Russia to discuss the construction of a corporate plant of electric vehicles in the country.
Earlier on Friday, May 21, the billionaire made a video call on the Russian enlightenment marathon “New Knowledge”. Answering questions, he announced the randor official appearance of TESLA electric vehicles in the CIS countries, and also indicated that he considers Russia as a possible place to open production.
The Kaluga region became the first contender for the construction of the TESLA plant, and then for the plant in the region, the mask promised benefits and power of Udmurtia. In turn, the governor of the Moscow region Andrei Vorobiev called on the American entrepreneur to choose the Moscow region.
“New knowledge” will last until May 22 of this year in the eight cities of the country – Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Sochi, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Kaliningrad – and will be accompanied by Internet broadcast on the network.
