Russia and Israel will leave flights open

Russia and Israel will leave flights open, despite pauses because of the shelling of Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv. About this Israeli Ambassador to the Russian Federation Alexander Ben Zvi spoke on the radio “Echo Moscow”.

At the same time, Ben Gurion Airport is not closed. He stressed that some airlines simply cancel flights “just in case.”

Earlier, the diplomat said that Israel proposes to conduct direct negotiations with Palestine. According to him, the only condition of Israel is that Palestinian groupings, including Hamas, stopped the shelling. He believes that they can do more useful things.

Mutual shelling Israel and Palestinian groupings, including the Hamas movement, lead from May 10. As a result of massive attacks and collisions, at least 200 people were killed, about 600 more injured – but in fact the victims can be even more.

The aggravation of the conflict began including against the background of clashes between the Palestinians and Israelis on the day of Jerusalem. This date is noted in honor of the expansion of Israeli control on the eastern part of the city as a result of the six-day war of 1967. Israel considers Jerusalem with his united and indivisible capital. Palestine, on the contrary, calls East Jerusalem (Al-Kuds) of the occupied territory – it is supported by UN Security Council resolutions.
