In Russia, they gathered to create a state corporation on exporting forests

The development project of the Far East and the Arctic, which was prepared by the Russian Foundation for direct investment (RFI) and Minvostok Development, provides for the creation of a state corporation, which will receive the exclusive right to export the forest abroad. About this with reference to the document and the source in the Government writes RBC.

RDIA can become one of the founders of such an exclusive agent. Deputy Prime Minister and President of the President Yuri Trutnev, who spoke about the possibility of such a decision back in February, referred to the instructions of Vladimir Putin.

According to him, it was decided to go for this measure due to numerous violations of forest legislation and illegal cuts in the region. Especially many problems are fixed in Transbaikal, from where the forest goes to China.

Also Trutnev said that the government was going to gradually increase export and customs quotas (this year up to 80 percent), next year a complete ban will be for the removal of the round. Such measures are sure the official will create processing enterprises and, accordingly, jobs.

New State Corporation, he suggested, could supply abroad a round forest in a transition period, but in general it should ensure the legality of cutting and replenishment of the budget. The company model is planned to form until the end of the month, and it is necessary to create it until the end of this year.

During October last year, Victoria Abramchenko Vice Prime Minister said that in 2019 50 million cubic meters of timber (41.2 million tons) were taken from Russia (41.2 million tons), 85 percent of them are untreated wood. At the same time in recent years, the forest began to export much more active. In particular, in 2014, exports were only 34 million tons.

Before that, Putin described the situation with the forest with the words “I do not climb into any gate.” The head of state during the relevant meeting was left dissatisfied with “purely archaic, consumer” approaches to the use of forest resources.
