Israel Defense Army (IDF) responded with fire from Merkava tanks on the attack on the part of the Palestinian militarized grouping “Islamic jihad” recognized in a number of terrorist countries. On Wednesday, May 12, reports the Telegram channel “Military Observer”.
According to the channel, the jihadists fired at the anti-tank missile complex (PTRR) of the TCAL armored car on the border with the gas sector. As a result, three Israeli servicemen were injured. Later, the militants “Islamic Jihad” also opened fire at the positions of Israelis from mortars.
In response, the IDF decided to use Merkava for the attack of several goals on the Palestinian side. In addition, the Israeli military set a smoke vest to be able to evacuate from the place of victims as a result of the attack of military personnel. It is noted that all of them were already delivered to the hospital.
On May 10, Palestinian groups began a massive shelling of Israel – a total of more than 1 thousand rockets were issued on the territory of the country. In response, the Israeli army called on five thousand reservists and conducted the operation of the “Guardies of the Wall”. The defense forces of the country continued to strike the goals in Gaza: according to the military, as a result, the houses of the three high-ranking leaders of the Hamas movement were destroyed. In total, 500 targets are amazed in Gaza.
The exacerbation began against the background of clashes between Palestinians and Israelis per day of Jerusalem. This date is noted in honor of the expansion of Israeli control on the eastern part of the city as a result of the six-day war of 1967. Israel considers Jerusalem with his united and indivisible capital. Palestine, on the contrary, calls East Jerusalem (Al-Kuds) of the occupied territory – it is supported by UN Security Council resolutions.
