About 200 people suffered as a result of riots in Jerusalem

about 200 Palestinians were injured by the riots in East Jerusalem, the Agency Wafa reports.

According to him, the major clashes took place near the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Policemen shot on parishioners with rubber bullets, and used light grenades and tear gas.

In the evening, on May 7, the unrest flared immediately in two regions of East Jerusalem – near the temple mountain and in the quarter Sheikh Jarar, where, by the decision of the Israeli court, there are eviction of several Arab families. As a result, protests developing in riots continue for more than a week.

Against the background of these events, the leader of the Palestinian National Administration Mahmoud Abbas instructed the representative of Palestine to request a meeting of the Security Council to discuss the discussion in East Jerusalem.

In 1956, the Government of Jordan in collaboration with UNRWA decided to settle 28 families in the Sheikh Jarrah district in Jerusalem, but did not hand over the ownership of housing.
