Kyrgyzstan: began to investigate murders and pogroms on border with Tajikistan

In Kyrgyzstan, 11 criminal cases were opened after fighting and pogroms on the border with Tajikistan, Interfax was told in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.

In particular, law enforcement officers began to investigate several murder cases at once. One of them was initiated after the death of a 12-year-old girl. Another production is openly on the fact of mass murder in the area on the site of the water distribution point “Head”, where the bodies of at least 25 people were found.

Also, the murder cases are investigated on the facts of execution of civilians on the road. In addition, cases are investigated in Kyrgyzstan on the articles “Mass riots”, “Crimes against Peace”, “Hooliganism,” “Destruction or damage to someone else’s property” and “illegal border crossing”.

Earlier it was reported that Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan began the discharge of troops and equipment from the zone of armed conflict on the border, the situation stabilized.

Fights on the controversial section of the border of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in the area of ​​the Water distribution point “Head” began in the afternoon of April 29 and soon turned into the pogroms of the Kyrgyz population. The parties accused each other in provocations. According to the latest data, 34 people died in Kyrgyzstan, another 178 were injured. Tajikistan has not yet provided official data on victims. According to the media information, about a dozen people killed in clashes and about 90s were wounded.
