Kyrgyzstan accused Tajikistan in violating international agreements

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan accused Tajikistan in violation of a number of international agreements during an armed conflict on the border of two states. This is reported by TASS with reference to the message of the Kyrgyz main supervisory authority.

The prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case on the facts of invasion and “other crimes”, saying that on April 29 in the Batken region of the republic, the Bangit formations and regular troops of Tajikistan “treacherously attacked the borders of the Kyrgyz Republic.”

It is specified that the attack was committed against civilians using “automatic weapons, mortars, combat helicopters, heavy armored vehicles, artillery calculations and other types of weapons.”

According to the prosecutor’s office, Tajikistan violated the requirements of the Charter of the Universal Declaration of UN Human Rights of 1976, the CIS Creating Agreement from 1991, the Almaty Declaration of 1991, the Moscow Declaration on the observance of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of the borders of the States Parties CIS from 1994 and agreement on the foundations of interstate relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan from 1996.
