African country suspended an agreement with Russia on creation of a marine base

Sudan on Wednesday, April 28, announced the suspension of an agreement with Russia on the construction of a maritime base in the territory of the country’s African. This is reported by TASS with reference to Al Arabiya TV channel.

According to the publication, the contract shall be suspended before approving its legislative body. Sudan, in turn, notified the Russian side about it.

On the creation of the Russian Point of Logistical Supply of the Navy in Sudan, it became known in November 2020. It was reported that the African Republic will provide land for the Navy of Russia, which will place no more than four ships, including with a nuclear power plant.

At the same time, Russia received the right to transport any weapons through Sudanese ports. Moving ships will not be subject to any duties. In exchange, Moscow promised to provide assistance, including in search and rescue operations, with the appropriate request from the Government of Sudan.
