Visitors to cafe in China to finant for food left in plates

The Permanent Committee of the All-China Middle of People’s Representatives adopted a law on combating food waste. Now customers who have not arrived dish in Chinese cafes will be able to finant, reports Xinhua.

According to a new law, catering service providers will be able to charge customers who leave an excessive amount of food waste, a disposal fee. How much will be a fine and how will the penalty will be held – it is still unclear.

“The law establishes the definition of food waste and will appoint the responsible bodies that will control the implementation of the project,” the press secretary of the TEVEYA Zanga Commission said. According to a report based on national field research, about 18 billion kilograms of food waste are produced annually in China.

In August 2020, it was reported that in some Chinese cities they want to establish restrictions on the amount of food that people can order in restaurants. Such a solution is associated with an increase in food waste and rising prices for products in the country.
