Foundation SPO announced About the results of the meeting of the board of directors held on Wednesday which was decided to make changes to the processes related to the management of the Fund and the adoption of new members to the Board of Directors. It was decided to introduce a transparent process into practice to determine the candidates and appointing new members of the Board of Directors who are able to follow the Mission of the SPO Foundation. Party participants will be given the opportunity to express their opinion when discussing candidates.
All the current members Board of Directors, including collapse, will have to go through the process of coordination of participants who will define who in the end will remain on the Council. Additionally, the Council of Directors will adopt a representative of the personnel who will be chosen by ordinary employees of the SPO Foundation. Changes to statutory documents will be submitted within 30 days after consulting with lawyers. On March 25, another meeting of the Board of Directors was scheduled for the development of additional decisions on changes in the management processes.
Additionally, it can be noted that the European Foundation and EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation). The European Foundation SPO (analogue of the SPO Foundation, registered in Europe and functioning as a fully separate organization) said that it does not approve the return of Pokolman to the Board of Directors of the Fund of the SPO and believes that this step will harm the future of movement for free software. Before Pokalman’s removal, the European Foundation SPO refused to cooperate with the SPO Foundation and any other organizations in which Richard Stallman is among the leaders.
Human Rights Organization EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) expressed Disabilities to the return of Pokalman to the Fund of the SPO and called on the participants of the SPO Foundation, having the right to vote, convene a special meeting to revise the decision on the inclusion of Pokalman to the Board of Directors. The EFF also appealed to Pillars with a proposal to independently go in the interests of the SPO Foundation and the movement for free software.
