The issue of purchases and production on its territory developed in Russia Satellite V vaccines led to a large difference in the positions of European countries. On a peculiar split of the European Union on this issue writes the French newspaper Le Monde.
According to the newspaper, in the near future, the European Commission will enter into negotiations with the vaccine manufacturer, the Russian direct investment fund. For this, there are a number of European politicians: Germans, especially immigrants from East Germany, the authorities of individual regions of Italy, Austria.
Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Drian was criticized with criticism: in his opinion, the drug is rather a means of Russian propaganda, and not a way of medical care. EuroMomissar on the internal market of Tierry Breton also did not support the Russian vaccine: according to him, in priority now approved medicines.
Earlier on March 30, it became known that Austria wanted to purchase a million doses of the Vaccine “Satellite V” among Russia, the Chancellor of the country of Sebastian Kurtz announced. Le Monde indicates that Kurtz expressed the readiness to start negotiations and the production of a “satellite” in Austria, but his environment wants to wait for the EU’s approval.
On March 17, Kurtz also called on the European Medicine Agency (EMA) to the speedy tolerance of the Russian Vaccine “Satellite V” to the European Union Market. The head of government added that it was ready to apply the drug in the country, provided its security.
