Dmitry Rogozin met with Indian cosmonauts in Russia

Director General of the Roskosmos State Corporation Dmitry Rogozin on March 22, 2021 held a meeting with Indian candidates for astronauts, successfully passed generally aspirations in Russia. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of India in the Russian Federation Mr. D. B. Venkatesh Harma and representatives of subsidiaries of Roscosmos State Corporation, who participated in the preparation of Indian candidates for astronauts.

Ambassador of the Republic of India thanked the Director General of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin for providing support for the training program for Indian astronauts. The contract for the preparation of Indian candidates for the flight in space between the company “Glavkosmos” (part of the state corporation “Roscosmos”) and the center of the piloted space flights of the Indian organization of space research was signed on June 27, 2019. Center for training cosmonauts named after Yu.A. Gagarin on February 10, 2020 began planned preparation of Indian candidates for astronauts.

The whole process of training and training was held in Russia and included a number of elements necessary for future astronauts, such as medical and physical training, the study of the Russian language, study of the design, layouts and systems of the transport piloted ship “Union”.
