Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova reacted to the recognition of Russia as one of the main threats to the United States. She told on the air of the radio “Moscow speaking” that Washington considers everyone who competes with them to be a threat.
“The main enemy they will consider everyone who will compete with them in any area. Naturally, in addition to the factor that should demonstrate their alliance, to unite them, there is also a factor of losing competition, or one that they cannot lead on generally accepted basics “, – said Zakharova.
According to the diplomat, containment of Russia is an attempt by the United States to prevent Moscow from competing on equal terms.
Earlier it became known that the United States will check the size, structure and capabilities of its armed forces due to the “challenges” represented by Russia and China. In the same statement, Washington named Moscow and Beijing as the main threats to the country.
