Former Minister of Finance of Russia, President of FC Otkritie Bank Mikhail Zadornov saw the similarity of bitcoin with the MMM financial pyramid, popular in the 1990s. He expressed his opinion on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel, the recording of which is available on YouTube.

The MMM financial pyramid was organized in the 1990s by businessman Sergei Mavrodi. In the winter of 2020, social media users noticed a financial “game” that appeared on Instagram, the rules of which seemed to many to be similar to the description of “MMM”.
