Su-57 tested superweapon

The Russian fifth-generation fighter Su-57 was tested with mock-ups of a superweapon – a new hypersonic missile, RIA Novosti reports, citing a source in the military-industrial complex.

“As part of the tests, the experienced Su-57 fighter performed several flights with functional mass and size mock-ups of the new Russian intra-fuselage hypersonic missile,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

The source added that in the near future, it is planned to carry out throw tests with new missiles belonging to the air-to-surface class.

In February, the agency, citing a source in the military-industrial complex, reported that Russia would build three more samples of the heavy attack-reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) S-70 “Okhotnik”, which is considered to be a slave of the Su-57.

In the same month, TASS, referring to the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), reported that the Su-57 is equipped with a cabin with maximum automation.

In December 2020, the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) received the first serial Su-57.

In December 2019, the Su-57 crashed, which was supposed to become the first serial fighter of the fifth generation, adopted by the Russian Aerospace Forces.

By 2028, the Russian Aerospace Forces should receive 76 Su-57 units.
