North Korean hackers caught in attack on Pfizer

North Korean hackers tried to hack into the servers of the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, trying to get hold of data on the coronavirus vaccine. This was the accusation made by the National Intelligence Agency (NIS) of South Korea, Yonghap writes.

North Korean citizens were caught attempting a cyberattack during a closed meeting of the intelligence committee of the National Assembly (South Korean parliament).

Whether the hackers managed to gain access to any information is not disclosed.

In early February, it was reported that the leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un, criticized the work of the government and fired the country’s chief economist, appointed a month ago, due to the fact that he did not find ideas to save the economy from the current crisis. At the same time, the head of state admitted that the previously adopted national plans for economic development did not work.
