United States commented on timing of return to nuclear deal with Iran

White House spokesman Jen Psaki commented on the timing of the return of the United States to the nuclear deal with Iran. TASS reports.

According to her, the timing depends on when Iran returns to full implementation of its obligations under the agreement.

“If Iran returns to full implementation of its obligations under the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Action Plan – Lenta.ru), then the United States will do the same and then use it as a platform for reaching a longer-term and lasting agreement which will also address other areas of concern, “said Psaki.

In January 2020, Iran announced its rejection of the agreements on the JCPOA. In early May 2018, former US President Donald Trump announced Washington’s unilateral withdrawal from the deal and the resumption of anti-Iranian sanctions.

The JCPOA Treaty on Iran was signed in the summer of 2015 between Tehran and six intermediary countries – Russia, the United States, Great Britain, China, France, Germany.
