Working visit of Acting General Director of TsENKI to Vostochny

I.O. Ruslan Mukhamedzhanov, General Director of the Center for Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure Facilities (TSENKI, part of the Roscosmos State Corporation), paid a working visit to the Vostochny cosmodrome. During the trip, he monitored the construction of residential buildings in the Zvezdny microdistrict, facilities at the propellant components storage complex, the solid waste site, PSEB, Meteocomplex and other facilities of the first stage. The head of TsENKI also heard a report on construction and installation work at the water intake facilities, assessed the progress of construction work at the launch complex for the Angara launch vehicles. Here, the places of installation of the metal cladding of the gas duct were examined.

Ruslan Mukhamedzhanov also inspected the structures of the launch complex for carrier rockets of the Soyuz-2 family, workplaces in the assembly and test buildings of the carrier rocket, spacecraft, the Technical Complex and the refueling and neutralization station. At the block warehouse, he got acquainted with the progress of work on the installation and testing of technological equipment for the production and storage of compressed gases and the Vacuum Unit Complex.

Vostochny is the newest cosmodrome in Russia, being built 8 thousand kilometers from Moscow and 180 kilometers from Blagoveshchensk. Its area is about 700 square kilometers. In 2016, the construction of facilities of the first stage was completed at the cosmodrome, and a platform for launching Soyuz missiles was created. At present, the construction of a second launch pad is underway – for a new missile of the Angara family. Vostochny is equipped with the most modern equipment for spacecraft flight control.

TSENKI is one of the fundamental enterprises of the aerospace industry, which specializes in the creation of ground space infrastructure and manages the cosmodromes in Russia.
